    Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia is currently seeking Pharmacy Technicians to join our growing team of talented professionals in our Inpatient Pharmacy!


    We currently have part-time and labor pool (as needed) roles available!! Hours/schedules available varies.


    Job Summary: Works under the supervision of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Managers. Assists in various activities in the pharmacy not requiring the professional judgement of a pharmacist. Performs pharmacy related duties in compliance with department policies and procedures. Demonstrates and maintains competency in all technician tasks and functions. Responsible for the oversight of select areas/functions in the department as designated. Available to work all shifts (days evenings and nights where applicable) to meet the needs of the department. Arranges sequence and timing of work to meet normal and variable work requirements. Provides technical support in any or all of the following pharmacy functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Riverside began serving the Virginia Peninsula community in 1916. In 1963, Riverside moved to the present 72-acre location in Newport News on J. Clyde Morris Boulevard. A 450-bed facility, Riverside Regional Medical Center is the Virginia Peninsulas most comprehensive medical facility combining the most recent computerized medical technology with a healing environment. The Pavilion is a 250,000 sq. ft., $107 million, 3-story addition to Riverside Regional Medical Center, which opened in 2013. This acute care facility provides a regional cancer care center, the Peninsula regions only comprehensive stroke center, the areas only open-heart surgery program, the regions only Level II Trauma Center, and a cornerstone neurosciences program that includes the Chesapeake, Riverside and University of Virginia Radiosurgery Center.


    Education: High School Graduate preferred for Pharmacy Tech. For Pharmacy Intern, high school diploma and active in pharmacy school required.


    Experience: A minimum of 1 year previous pharmacy technician experience preferred.


    Certification/Licensure: For Pharmacy Technician Registration/Licensure Virginia State required, PTCB (or other national certification) required within 9 months of hire. For Pharmacy Intern must have pharmacy intern Virginia State licensure only.
