Works under the supervision of the Office Manager and the Physicians. The Echo Technologist performs echocardiographic studies utilizing ultrasound techniques. The Echo Technologist demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assess data reflective of patient status and to assist in the interpretation of this information. The Echo Technologist works effectively within the office to maintain an environment of excellence which is patient focused to provide timely compassionate quality patient care. The Echo Technologist is responsible and accountable for competent echocardiographic ultrasound examinations. Also the Echo Technologist is responsible for effectively communicating with staff to ensure patient quality care and is motivated with good interpersonal skills. The Technologist must comply with patient safety goals and HIPAA guidelines.

This position is an office tech position at Cardiovascular Specialists in Newport News.
EDUCATION: Graduate from an ultrasound-training program or on the job training from an echo laboratory, preferred.
EXPERIENCE: One year of experience in echocardiographic imaging preferred, Basic CPR required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers. Current CPR Certification Required.
