Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, Virginia is currently seeking a full-time night shift Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Lab Tech (MLT.)
Job Summary: The Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Lab Tech (MLT) works under the direction of the supervisor/manager in the area of responsibility and/or Director of the Laboratory. Performs technical procedures in such areas as Hematology Chemistry Serology Blood Bank Point of Care Testing Urinalysis and Microbiology according to established Protocols and standard operating procedures. The MT/MLT is required to follow all quality control and quality assurance guidelines established in the department to include accurate performance review and documentation. Perform routine maintenance of departmental equipment and procedures to include inventory control preventive maintenance and troubleshooting. The position participates in all aspects of Proficiency testing and in maintaining a constant state of readiness in the department to meet all Standards for accreditation from College of American Pathologist (CAP) DNV State OSHA AABB CLIA etc. The MT/MLT assists in the training of new and existing personnel as well as students. The MT/MLT performs the responsibilities of lead tech in the absence of an on site supervisor when designated as such. The MT/MLT adheres to hospital and departmental policies and procedures; maintains a professional demeanor and exhibits a positive attitude. May perform specimen collection specimen processing and phlebotomy as applicable. May perform other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology; Clinical Lab Science or equivalent degree in health science. Alternative must meet eligibility requirements for ASCP.
Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in clinical laboratory preferred. Ability-operate technology/equipment consistent with current industry standards. Working knowledge of computers.
Certification: ASCP registered MT/MLS/MLT or eligible or equivalent.
