Position open for consideration for LPN students in the RCHC LPN to RN Program that meet qualifications.


Works under the supervision of Registered Nurse in care of the patients and their environment (including those needing special precautions) and performs specified treatments. In addition this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served in assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and provide the care needed as described according to the departmental policy and procedure. Promotes and maintains safe work environment for staff as well as our customers incorporating national patient safety initiatives. The LPN may work in a variety of settings and roles within Riverside Health System. Works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans.


To qualify, candidates must:

  • RCHC-PN Program graduate
  • Apply in Level 2 of the RCHC-LPN-to-RN program
  • No Concurrent Option (cannot be enrolled in another program such as BSN)
  • 3.0 GPA or higher (from PN Program or RN Level 1 if applicable)
  • Good academic & disciplinary standing
  • Maintain unencumbered licensure as a licensed practical nurse (LPN), licensed in Virginia


Education:  required to meet licensure requirements. Specialty certification in field highly encouraged.

Experience: preferred in an acute care setting but not required.

Licensed Practical Nurse or board eligible by the State of Virginia or compact state required.Certification: CPR/BLSRequired/Preferred: Required
