Works under the supervision of the Manager/Supervisor Director and Medical Director of Respiratory Care Services. The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for the planning executing and evaluating the total Respiratory Care of assigned patients. The Respiratory Care Practitioner utilizes current evidenced based Respiratory Care Practice to care for each patient based on the physiological psychosocial and cultural diversity. Works under the direction of the leadership team to provided respiratory services associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health System and facility goals and strategic plans. Responsible for assuring safe practices as referenced in the National Patient Safety Goals and supports best practices as recommended by the American Association of Respiratory Care.
Riverside Tappahannock Hospital is a 67-bed facility caring for citizens in the Tappahannock, Essex, King and Queen, King William counties and the Northern Neck counties of Richmond, Westmoreland, Northumberland, and Lancaster. Education: Associates degree in Respiratory Care required, Bachelors preferred.
Experience: Previous respiratory care experience of one year preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care and licensed in the state of Virginia, BLS certification required. ACLS required within 1 year of employment. PALS preferred.
Hours: Full time - rotating shifts
