This position works under the supervision of the Office Manager Physicians and/or Clinical Coordinator/Supervisor. The Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) greets the patient and reviews the complaint. Performs and records pertinent clinical measures to include visual acuities slit lamp exam and any other necessary diagnostic test. The COT facilitates patient education through brochures and videos. The COT prepares prescription refills for the physician to review and sign. The COT is also responsible for preparing referral and dictation letters returning calls to patients and pharmacies with medical questions.
EDUCATION: High School Graduate or GED Equivalent
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years in an Ophthalmology/Optometry Office
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: JCAHPO, Certified Ophthalmic Technician
HOURS: This is a PRN position - Premium Pay - 8a-5p - Mon-Fri
