Overview

Riverside Health System in is currently seeking a full-time Pharmacy Tech for our outpatient pharmacy located at Riverside Regional Medical Center.

 

Hours: full-time, between the hours of Monday-Friday 7:30am-7pm & Saturday and Sundays 11am-4pm.

 

Job Summary: Works under the supervision of Pharmacists. Assists pharmacists in performing routine duties as required. Performs pharmacy?related duties in compliance with department policies and procedures. Arranges sequence and timing of work to meet normal and variable work requirements. Provides technical support in any or all of the following pharmacy functions. Performs other duties as assigned. Available to work all shifts.

Riverside began serving the Virginia Peninsula community in 1916. In 1963, Riverside moved to the present 72-acre location in Newport News on J. Clyde Morris Boulevard. A 450-bed facility, Riverside Regional Medical Center is the Virginia Peninsulas most comprehensive medical facility combining the most recent computerized medical technology with a healing environment. The Pavilion is a 250,000 sq. ft., $107 million, 3-story addition to Riverside Regional Medical Center, which opened in 2013. This acute care facility provides a regional cancer care center, the Peninsula regions only comprehensive stroke center, the areas only open-heart surgery program, the regions only Level II Trauma Center, and a cornerstone neurosciences program that includes the Chesapeake, Riverside and University of Virginia Radiosurgery Center.

Qualifications

Education: High School Graduate preferred. 

Experience: Must at least have minimal Pharmacy Tech experience.  

 

Licensure: Licensure from the State of Virginia required, PTCB (or other national certification) required within 9 months of hire.
