The Vascular/Ultrasound Technologist works under the supervision of a qualified physician and the Imaging Services Manager. Performs noninvasive vascular ultrasound examinations and a variety of imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail and demonstrating the skills and knowledge to assess technical data reflective of patient status relative to age and specific needs and to assist in the interpretation of same providing preliminary impressions as appropriate. Delivers quality cost effective patient care in a professional manner. Works effectively to maintain an environment of excellence which is patient focused providing timely compassionate quality patient care. Promotes and maintains a safe work environment for both staff and customers incorporating national patient safety initiatives.

Set on over 25 beautiful acres, the hospital offers state-of-the-art care, comfort and convenience. Riverside Doctors' Hospital opened in May 2013 and is licensed for 40 private rooms - 33 Medical/Surgical rooms and 7 Intensive Care rooms. Surgical Services features 2 operating rooms and 8 private patient preparation and recovery rooms dedicated to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Williamsburg, Virginia is best known for tourist and historical point of interest. Colonial Williamsburg has many historical sites and the College of William and Mary is the second oldest institution for higher education in the United States.


EDUCATION: Graduate of a formal vascular ultrasound program or equivalent level of training and experience, in accordance with ICAVL guidelines or graduate of ARDMS approved school or program to meet eligiblity requirements for registry.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one-year experience preferred; will consider new graduate from an accredited vascular ultrasound program, or Registry eligible applicant. Experience in Ultrasound and Vascular highly preferred.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as Registered Vascular Technologist and/or Songrapher, or by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as Registered Vascular Sonographer preferred. Registry eligible in Vascular Ultrasound AND General Ultrasound required. CPR required.
