Department Materials Services
The Materials Management Tech/Courier position provides materials management support for key Supply Chain activities and initiatives with split duties between the courier department and distribution. This position performs a wide range of duties as directed by the materials management coordinator/supervisor necessary to coordinate purchasing replenishment of stock supplies and inventory management including receiving warehouse logistics and inventory management for the Riverside Hospital. Additionally this position is responsible for coordinating pick-ups and deliveries of a variety of items including interdepartmental mail U. S. mail parcels packages lab items pharmacy items blood and tissue samples supplies x-rays and any other items as directed. This individual will: Key and fill departmental requisitions/picklist/exchange carts daily. Pull and deliver material to the requesting user/department. Break down stock into unit of issue and place items in proper storage area/par closet in a FIFO method. Extract critical reports and replenish all PARs with needed supplies from PAR Excellence Computer. Count and replenish PARs using handheld computer. Utilize the Lawson Materials Management Information System to key extract information and print documents. Conduct periodic cycle counts with assistance from other Materials Management staff. Record stock out/low level product situations as designated within storeroom. Pick and fill over the counter and departmental requisitions accurately. Fully cross train in all areas of the distribution process for the OR Storeroom and Central distribution. Drive a company vehicle on pre-described daily routes to specific Riverside facilities or other facilities as directed by dept. supervisor. Be responsible for daily weekly and monthly routine vehicle maintenance and notify the supervisor of any necessary unscheduled maintenance. Procure any maintenance documentation and receipts and ensure they are maintained in the fleet maintenance record. Provide fill-in back up duties for other couriers as requested. Notify supervisor of any route changes or deviations from pre-described daily routes. Attend all in-service departmental or update meetings as required. Maintain up to date yearly testing and in-service education. Assist in other areas of Materials Management as required and performs other assigned tasks as needed. Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia is currently seeking a part-time Medical Lab Tech (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT/MLS.)   Hours: Part-time, 10pm-630am and every other weekend.   The MT or MLT works under the direction of the supervisor/manager in the area of responsibility and/or Director of the Laboratory. Performs technical procedures in such areas as Hematology Chemistry Serology Blood Bank Point of Care Testing Urinalysis and Microbiology according to established Protocols and standard operating procedures. The MT or MLT is required to follow all quality control and quality assurance guidelines established in the department to include accurate performance review and documentation. Perform routine maintenance of departmental equipment and procedures to include inventory control preventive maintenance and troubleshooting. The position participates in all aspects of Proficiency testing and in maintaining a constant state of readiness in the department to meet all Standards for accreditation from College of American Pathologist (CAP) DNV State OSHA AABB CLIA etc. The MT or MLT assists in the training of new and existing personnel as well as students. The MLT adheres to hospital and departmental policies and procedures; maintains a professional demeanor and exhibits a positive attitude.
