Consistently coordinates patient symptom based triage facilitates direct inpatient and Emergency department admits/consult for patient transfer bed placement transportation After-Hour Coverage for PACE Program RHS post-acute discharge calls remote patient monitoring RHS MD and Service line referrals. Provides assistance for multiple after hour RHS service lines. Delivers excellent customer service focused on patient centered care with a solution oriented approach and engaged can-do attitude. Actively participates in outreach and marketing by serving as Point of Contact for RHS marketing and promotional campaigns. Develops and presents educational materials identifies patient needs and takes appropriate action according to established department policies/ procedures. Ensures each encounter documentation is accurate and detailed for patient's safety reporting and follow up. Collaborates with physicians Patient Access Coordinators Case Managers Administrators Bed Manager and Hospital Supervisors to enhance RHS safety and Quality best practices. Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse to provide personal care comfort measures and environmental services to patients (including those needing special precautions) and performs specified treatments. Responsibilities include: providing care consistent with written instructions assisting with personal hygiene assisting with ambulation and exercise assisting with medications that are ordinarily self administered reporting changes in the patients condition and needs to a registered nurse providing nutritional support performing other related supportive tasks as specified by organizational policy and completing appropriate records in compliance with hospice policies and procedures. In addition this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and provide the care needed as described according to the departmental policy and procedure. Operating Room Nurse- Paid internship
It's a great time to be part of the Riverside Family!! We are seeking talented Registered Nurses to join our Surgical Services team via the Operating Room Clinical Internship Program (ORCIP).
The ORCIP program is a 16-week paid internship which includes integrated clinical, theory, and laboratory orientation to the role of the many roles of the perioperative nurse in the acute and ambulatory surgical setting. These include roles as the circulating nurse in the operating room as well as pre & post-surgery and the post anesthesia recovery unit. Participants are supervised by experienced and skilled nurses and educators. Access to and facilitation of the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) – Periop 101® online modular course is provided with completion required within a specified course schedule. Library, laboratory and clinical learning experiences will be conducted on the campus of The Riverside Education & Workforce Development Campus (316 Main Street-Newport News) and within the operating rooms of Riverside Regional Medical Center and affiliated Riverside facilities as designated. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate of completion and 40 CEUs from the AORN and be eligible to apply for open Perioperative nursing positions within Riverside Health System and its affiliates.
